Kyoto Smart City Expo Chooses VMFi TranSpeech for the Fifth Consecutive Year

For the fifth consecutive year, VMFi TranSpeech had supported the Kyoto Smart City Expo with real-time multilingual subtitles, helping speakers and international audiences communicate more naturally across languages.
Held in Kyoto, where cultural heritage meets new innovation, the expo brings together businesses, municipalities, researchers, and technology leaders from Japan and around the world. From keynote presentations to business networking and public-sector exchange, multilingual communication plays an important role in helping ideas travel beyond language barriers.
Real-Time Multilingual Subtitles Built for Conferences

TranSpeech is VMFi’s solution for conferences, keynote speeches, forums, and international events.
Unlike TransDisplay, which is designed for two-way conversations at service counters and reception areas, TranSpeech focuses on one-to-many communication. Live speech is translated into multilingual subtitles and displayed directly on existing projectors, monitors, or LED walls.
Speakers can continue presenting naturally, while audiences follow the translated content without downloading an app or wearing interpretation headsets.
This allows event organizers to add multilingual access without significantly changing the existing stage or AV workflow.
Five Years of Real-World Use
Event technology must work reliably in real environments, not only in demonstrations.
Kyoto Smart City Expo has continued using TranSpeech for five consecutive years, from online broadcasts to live keynote sessions. This long-term adoption reflects the importance of ease of deployment, translation quality, and compatibility with professional event environments.
TranSpeech has also been used across Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, and Germany, supporting conferences, exhibitions, academic exchanges, and international forums.
The settings may differ, but the challenge remains the same:
How can one speaker reach an audience that speaks many different languages?
TranSpeech helps make that possible.
Making Global Events Easier to Understand
VMFi believes multilingual technology should support communication without becoming the center of attention.
By turning live speech into real-time multilingual subtitles, TranSpeech helps organizers make conferences and international events more accessible while allowing speakers to stay focused on their message.
Five consecutive years at Kyoto Smart City Expo is more than a milestone for VMFi. It is a sign of continued trust in a solution built for real-world multilingual communication.
